My husband and I have stayed here 3 times in the last 2 years. We are in town this time for a Commander's game. A few things about the Navy lodge. Does it need to be updated physically? Absolutely! Are the rooms clean and spacious? Definitely! Is it worth the cost and conveniently located to most DC and MD sites? Yes! And the best part about it...the staff is nice, helpful and friendly. We will continue to stay here whenever we are in town.

Everything was as expected. Very convenient to DC activities we were involved with. Very affordable. Also convenient to other Navy base amenities like NEX. So at $100 per night compared to other hotel rates in the city in a very safe area (can't get much safer than a military base) it was a good deal for an overnight stay. Not a 4 star hotel but you aren't paying for one.

Very clean (coming from a previous hotel housekeeper) and friendly staff. Pet friendly too. Just show your proof of rabies vaccination. My only complaint was that the walls are paper thin and you can hear the neighbors very well when they are just talking.

Fantastic Navy lodge! The room was very nicely clean and looks updated. Plenty of towels for our family of 5 as well as a small kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils. You do have to pay to use the washers and dryers so be prepared for that. Our visit here has been great! Nice and quiet and love that we could have our dog with us.

Great, affordable lodging. This is way better than the nearby Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. Although the outside doesn't look great, the rooms are very nice. Large bathroom,, two beds, kitchenette with stove and dishware. For $85 a night with free parking and free breakfast, it's probably the best deal you can get in Washington, D.C.

A very nice place to stay on JBAB if you are eligible The Navy Lodge is a really good value if you meet the eligibility and there is availability. This is official DoD lodging, so eligibility is limited to active-duty military (all branches), Reserves/Guard on orders, retirees, DoD civilians on official travel, and their accompanied family members/sponsored guests. Pure civilians without a military sponsor or base access generally can’t book or stay. Priority goes to PCS/TDY travelers, but leisure stays are allowed when rooms are available. We were in the area and visiting relatives in the area. It is at the south end of the base and so you have to drive through the residential areas to get to the building. The check in was easy and the staff was nice. The room was a main room with comfortable beds, a kitchen nook and a bathroom/sink alcove. It was nice with no frills. Some drawback for our stay was that the front desk called at almost 11 pm asking for us to come to the front desk to rerun our credit card. The shower head is very low compared to a standard shower. We stayed over several days and never got a refresh or a maid. When we asked we were told that we could always ask for a cleanup. Even with these challenges, the price was $110/night with no taxes so it was a good deal. If you’re eligible, it’s an incredible value in the DC area — just know it’s not open to the general public like a regular hotel.

We rented two rooms for my family of 5, as we were there for a DC United game and a concert at the Anthem. The location was perfect for those two events. Building is located in a super quiet part of JBAB. While it could use *some* updating aesthetically, the rooms were spacious and very clean. We did not see one bug. The staff was friendly and always helpful. Breakfast with lots of choices. We will choose to stay here again. Thanks for a great stay

For the price, this place is great. We stayed here to tour DC. It's less than a 5 min drive to McNair, where we parked and hopped on the Metro. The room was large and clean and quiet. Two beds and a full kitchen for $80! There is also a playground for young kids. The staff was great and helpful with finding some near by dinner recommendations. The base itself has some pretty nice views without all the crowds. I will definitely come back here with my family.
